Deas is starting to laugh at me because every time we go to a new place, I like it so much I say that it’s my favorite place. Well, Ouray is no exception. It’s my new favorite place! And once again we have extended our originally planned stay of 3 nights to 6 nights – we just aren’t ready to leave!
Our first night here there was a free outdoor concert at park within walking distance of our campsite at the 4J+1+1 RV park. We walked over to the park with Hans and Lisa and had a wonderful time enjoying the free music in a fantastically beautiful setting.

The next day the 4 of us decided to hike the Ouray Perimeter Trail, a lovely 5-mile hike through the mountains and cliffs that encircle the town of Ouray.

Early on in the trail, we crossed a small wooden bridge that went over the Uncompahgre River.

Only after all 4 of us have stood on the bridge for several minutes did we notice this sign:

There were so many opportunities to stop and take pictures!

This hike was too long and steep for Nikki and Shorty, but we did bring Jake with us. Even at the end of the hike, Jake still had limitless energy and was pulling us down the trail. He’s a great trail dog!

Towards the end of the hike we came to a nice waterfall.

The last portion of the trail was quite narrow and hugged the side of a cliff.

We’ve hoping to get a couple more hikes in before we’re forced to leave!
You got some great shots of us! Love it! I just posted as well but had failed to get the people shots…good job!
Lovin’ this place and happy that you guys are here sharing it with us!

Jen, for as long as I’ve known you, you have always bloomed wherever you’re planted. It’s just that now you are being replanted at least once a week!! 🙂 But still always blooming. Good for you!
Keep exploring Colorado and blazing the trail for us.
We are really loving it here! In fact I think we’ve decided to return in the fall for a few weeks. We’ve had perfect weather which helps also. Are you headed this way?
Jennifer, I am so enjoying your blog and beautiful pictures! Can’t wait to read about your next destination. Safe travels!
